Privacy Policy

Rena’s whole product is about human connection, so we try to be straightforward about data: what we collect from you, what we surface about others, and what we will never do with either.

What we collect from you

Account details — your email address when you join the early-access list or create an account.
Profile information you provide — schools, past employers, interests, and connections you choose to share so Rena can find genuine common ground.
Usage data — how you interact with the Service (pages viewed, features used), collected to keep the Service working and improve it.

Information about other people

To show you who is behind a job posting and what you share with them, Rena processes professional information about third parties from publicly available and licensed sources (for example, public profiles and company pages). We surface this to you for individual outreach only. If you believe Rena displays information about you and you would like it corrected or removed, email privacy@getrena.app and we will act on your request.

How we use your information

—To operate the Service: matching, drafting, and account management.
—To communicate with you about early access, product updates, and support.
—To improve the Service, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
—To protect the Service and its users from abuse and fraud.

What we don’t do

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not send messages on your behalf without your explicit action.
We do not tell employers or hiring managers that you are searching.
We do not use your private drafts to train models shared with other users.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under confidentiality obligations, when required by law, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger — in which case this policy continues to apply to previously collected data.

Retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or de-identify it. We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@getrena.app. Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have additional rights, including objection to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We honor verified requests regardless of jurisdiction.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
